Aalborg Handball has secured the signature of the 24-year-old Olafur Gustafsson, left-back and Icelandic midfielder for the next two seasons. He will make the switch in summer from SG Flensburg. Olafur Gustafsson has played in the German top club for two seasons and is listed for 21 A-international matches for Iceland. He was taken to the Icelandic squad for the European Championships in Denmark, but had to cancel with a foot injury. He is 1.96 meters tall and weighs 95 kg.

Olafur Gustafsson has played Champions League with SG Flensburg Handewitt the past two seasons. In the 2011-2012 season he also played the Champions League for his Icelandic club Hafnarfjarðar. – I’m coming to Aalborg Handball to help win titles and play in the top of the Danish handball, says Olafur Gustafsson.
Olafur Gustafsson is born 27.03.1989 in Horsens, Denmark. He played since he was six years in the Icelandic club FH Hafnarfjörður , with his team he was Icelandic Champion in 2011. Since 22 November 2012 he is in the German Bundesliga playing under contract for SG Flensburg-Handewitt. From 2014/15 season he will leave Germany, and play for Danish club Aalborg Håndbold, where he signed a two-year contract.

Ólafur Gústafsson was part  of the Icelandic national team , and in 21 international matches scored 43 goals, and participated at the IHF World Championship 2013 in Spain .
