23.03.2014 Final 16, Skopje Macedonia
HC Metalurg 23:17 KIF Kolding Kobenhavn
Second half started as the first one, disciplined in defense and precise in attack for the hosts, and guest attack was confused, disorganized and very weak. Metalurg has again climbed to the highest goal difference and in 33rd minute the match was over for KIF, they were only left with a hope of better re-mach in their home arena in Copenhagen. It was a perfect day for Vugrinec, Mirkulovski, Stanic and their teammates, they have six goals advantage and without any pressure have great chance to reserve a spot in the Last 8.
Kolding will host Metalurg in Copenhagen on 30.03.2014, and will have to overcome six goals deficit if they want to advance in the next stage.
At the press conference, the Icelandic coach said that this was difficult game, they were trailing behind with too many goals deficit at half time, they still have chances in this duel, since the Balkans teams always play strong at home court. They will have to improve their game and find and use their chances in front of their fans.
Coach Cervar said that they showed that they had the greatest supporters, since they know how to respect and appreciate their players. They won with six goals difference, but they will be fooling themselves if they think it is over, they had to get motivated for the next game since Scandinavians never give up.
