Skopje is red and black after tonight’s first duel.Vardar won the first “Macedonian battle” in the Champions League after absolutely deserved victory against Metallurg in Skopje 22-27.

“Red-Black” played a much more mature, knew how to take chances and overpowered Metalurg defense. From beginning to end the duo  Boškovski – Samsonenko controlled the game and the result, not allowing the hosts to hope for more, than defeat. Darko Stanic was again far from the desired form, and after only 12 minutes was substituted by Mijatovic when on the scoreboard Vardar had the lead  3-7, on the opposite side Strahinja Milic had 13 saves. Vardar controlled the game and was in the lead throughout the match with 4-6 goals advantage. Darko Stanic was back at the start of the second half and expressly made two interventions, but Milic of opposite answers to the same extent and did not let Metalurg swiftly back into the match. Lino Cervar was unable to read the game of his opponent and his team players were not individually on the task in attack.

The match ended with  deservedly 22-27 for the “guests”, HC Vardar Skopje. Timur Dibirov confirms world class with fantastic new match, crowned with eight goals, on the opposite side Pavel Atman scored 7 goals for Metalurg.
