Macedonian champion Vardar as expected defeated the team of Montenegrin champion Lovcen with 36 : 19 (20 : 10) in the 7 th round of SEHA League.

The match which comes after a draw against PSG in the Champions League and in the wake of one of the most important away games in the same competition, was just an easy training for the hosts.

The guests were obviously not in the same rang as the home team and even Lovcen’s coach Kasim Kamenica could not help his team avoid convincing defeat. The first double-digit advantage for the “red and black” team came in 15th minute when the result was 13: 3. By the end of the first part it was increased to 21 : 9.

The second half game was more equal, but the quality was evident and resulted in a constant increase in the difference. Top scorers in HC Vardar Skopje, were Markovic and Rakovic who scored 6 and 7 goals. In Lovcen Igor Markovic scored 6 goals.

This is the fifth win of Vardar, in SEHA League which gave the Macedonian champion leading position in the competition with 16 points after 7 rounds played.

Coach of Lovcen Kasim Kamenica:

” Handball players of Vardar had a professional approach to this match. We have not played the game we planned ahead of the match. Our players were impressed by the great atmosphere that made the home crowd. I congratulate Vardar for the victory and hope to have a good season in the Champions League. I must mention that I’m disappointed with the game of a few experienced handball players who tonight were not at the required level “

Milan Popovic – handball players Lovcen

” I agree with my coach and I want to congratulate the handball players of Vardar for the earned victory. We played a bad game, especially in the first half when we could not consolidate our defense. Vardar played fast and easy, and we could not deal with it. At the second part we played better, but the difference was made in the first part Vardar was unattainable, especially against this team “

Andon Boškovski – coach of Vardar

” First I want to say that I was honored to sit against a coach as Kasim Kamenica. He is one of the reasons I started to deal with this matter. I have to admit that tonight we played a great game and I want to congratulate my players for the win, and even more for their efforts in this match. I would like to say about the audience that this evening was excellent “

Nemanja Pribak – handball player Vardar

“As my coach said, I am satisfied with the result and the game that we showed tonight. I also want to thank the fans who attend in greater numbers than last year. They are really our 8th player. This match was really good test ahead of the match of the Champions League against Thun on Saturday. As far as our opponent Lovcen, I hope that it will return to its old ways and become a handball club like at this point are Vardar, Zagreb or Metallurg “
