After the defeat from Vardar last week, Serbian champion HC Vojvodina had an easy task against Montenegrian HC Lovćen 30:23 (17:12) in the opening match of SEHA GAZPROM South Stream League – Round 6.  Home team celebrated the third victory in regional competition after Momir Rnic’s guys were better rival from the very beginning of the match, constantly in lead and routinely finishing the clash against team who almost surprised Slovakian Tatran in Presov three days ago.  The key player in the winning squad was once again left back Uroš Elezović with 9 goals and goalkeeper Miroslav Kocić who had good role in the first half with 9 saves. Middle back Danijel Vukićević was the most dangerous from the back line of Montenegrian team with four goals.

Vukićević scored the first goal on the match, but that didn’t disturbed the defensive 6-0 zone of home team, which was on the high level most of the match. Good defensive performance of home team produced a lot of counter-attacks after which Vojvodina scored easy goals. Series 7:0 for Vojvodina in period between 7th and 14th minute (from 2:3 to 9:3) was the reason for Lovćen’s coach, Kasim Kamenica to call time-out.  His instruction didn’t have a lot of success on the court in the next ten minutes in which Uroš Elezović and his team-mates made even higher advantage – 14:5 (22nd minute).

Defensive line of home team with Ćurković and Pušica became more relaxed in the last part of the first half, which was utilized by the Montenegrian players to score seven goals in the last seven minutes for 17:12 before the break.

Until the end of the match in Novi Sad, Lovćen was the closest to their rival in the first minute of the second half when Čizmović scored for 17:13. That speaks a lot about uncertainty tonight in Novi Sad. Uroš Elezović with two goals at the beginning of 40th minute brought +7 to his team – 23:16. Kamenica didn’t give up, ambitious coach forced his players to give their maximum, but that wasn’t enough.

The last chance for interesting finish, Lovćen have in the 46th minute (24:18) when time-out was called. Unfortunately for away team, home team players Todorović and Stanković scored three goals after the break for 27:18 only 12 minutes before the end. It’s became obviously that Lovćen have no energy to get back in the match…

After this match Vojvodina have three wins and three defeats, while Lovćen have score 1-5.
