Just days before the first lag of the EHF Velux Champions League, and HC Vardar Skopje and HSV Hamburg, are in the center of attention. It is not because of their duel in the Champions League but because of one of the greatest left back players in the world, the Croatian bombardier, Blazenko Lackovic. Unofficial sources inside the club and some Macedonian media speculate that the deal between Lackovic and HC Vardar is very close to signing, and is expected Lackoivc to change club colors this September.

He received a silver medal at the 2005 World championship, a silver medal at the 2008 European championship and a bronze medal at the 2012 European championship and 2012 Summer Olympics. Lacković has played for the Croatian clubs RK Varteks di Caprio and RK Zagreb. He was a member of German club SG Flensburg-Handewitt, which reached the EHF Champions League final in 2007. Since 2008 he is a member of a German club HSV and winner of the EHF Velux Champions League 2013.
